Roman Nicknames: Er Minestraro

\mine-STRA-ro\  Dated 2009, obsolete by now

A type of host, or very modest restaurateur, who serves almost exclusively meager soups and wine to go with it. You get what you pay for in this type of dirt cheap culinary establishment, which while satisfactory for the most basic of needs, is anything but a memorable experience.

Used to deride Claudio Ranieri during the initial months of his employment as manager of AS Roma, insinuating the quality of play on offer was less than enthralling. The term grew strangely obsolete in early 2010, when Roma started winning, winning and winning.
